STRIDE Orthopaedics COVID-19 Protection Framework
Current Settings in Canterbury: Red

STRIDE Orthopaedics is dedicated to ensuring patient and staff safety through all traffic light settings. Please read through the below information for more guidance on what to expect when visiting STRIDE Orthopaedics during the different alert levels. 

Regardless of  the traffic light setting STRIDE Orthopaedics will:

  • Screen all patients for Covid symptoms and to determine the risk to exposure to Covid.

  • Defer patients presenting with Covid symptoms to be tested and to be symptom-free for 72 hours.

  • Masks must be worn in the building and during appointments.

 

Vaccinated Patients:

  • Can wait in the waiting room and be seen as normal. 

  • Vaccinated support persons can also attend in person. 

Unvaccinated Patients:

  • May be changed to a virtual appointment if safe to do so or asked to wait in their car until the clinician is ready to see them. 

  • Unvaccinated support persons can attend via telephone or video link, but cannot attend the clinic in person. 

  • Children and exempt patients will be asked to wait in their car until the clinician is ready to see them for their safety. 

Green

When Canterbury is at Traffic Light Green setting

  • All staff and patients must wear masks during their appointment and in the waiting room.

  • There is no limit to the number of vaccinated support persons a patient can bring with them.  

Vaccinated Patients:

  • Vaccinated patients will be seen as normal (stated above).

Unvaccinated Patients:

  • Unvaccinated patients will be seen at the end of a clinic or in a separate clinic. 

  • We ask that you wait in the car until the clinician is ready to see you. Please call reception to notify us that you have arrived. 

Orange

When Canterbury is at Traffic Light Orange setting

  • All staff and patients must wear masks during their appointment and in the waiting room

  • There is a limit of one vaccinated support person per patient. Additional support people can attend via telephone or video link.

Vaccinated Patients:

  • Vaccinated patients will be seen as normal (stated above).

 

Unvaccinated Patients:

  • Unvaccinated patients will be seen at the end of a clinic or in a separate clinic. 

  • We ask that you wait in the car until the clinician is ready to see you. Please call reception to notify us that you have arrived. 

  • If you have any risk factors that are identified at screening, you need to provide a negative covid test within 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Red

When Canterbury is at Traffic Light Red setting

  • All staff and patients must wear masks during their appointment and in the waiting room.

  • Appointments will be conducted virtually where possible.

  • No support people will be allowed to attend appointments unless essential, e.g. child, disabled person, for cultural purposes or as an interpreter. People who are unable to be vaccinated (children) are unable to attend as visitors or support people. 

  • Support people can attend via telephone or video link. 

Vaccinated Patients:

  • Vaccinated patients will be seen as normal (stated above).

 

Unvaccinated Patients:

  • You will be seen at the end of a clinic or in a separate clinic. 

  • We ask that you wait in the car until the clinician is ready to see you. Please call reception to notify us that you have arrived.
